You can get a full meal for Rs. 5/- only. Rice, pulses, fried vegetables, chutney. Fishes, Eggs. Serving food by sitting on the fixed bench-table. The Beldanga Municipality under Murshidabad District has set an example with such an initiative.
There were financial adversities. But there was also goodwill. While other Municipalities are reluctant to implement their own projects, the Beldanga Municipality provides affordable Food Scheme, inspired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, is a surprising exception.
There is no shortage of hospitality. The menu of the day is hung on the board outside the gate in the morning. Change the menu every day to cut the monotony. The women of the self-reliant group have been busy preparing food since morning. Cut from washing vegetables. Serve from cooking. They do everything.
In the busyness of the day, many people do not get proper lunch. They are happy to find safe food for only Five rupees (Rs. 5/-). Eat at least a hundred full meals here every day.
This kind of initiative of Beldanga Municipality has literally set a precedent by increasing its income and reducing expenses in various aspects.
